At TDG Marketing, we embrace the flexibility and convenience of being a fully remote agency. Our talented and dedicated team works from various locations, bringing creative visions to life from the comfort of their own homes most of the time. Today, we're taking a peek into the daily routine of Bree, one of our extremely talented Graphic Designers. Here's a glimpse into her typical workday:

🕘 Morning Routine

Bree starts her day by opening her Gmail account to check for any scheduled meetings, emails, and notifications. Staying organized is key, so she quickly reviews her tasks on our task management system, Hive, prioritizing them from highest to lowest. By assessing which briefs will take the longest and which will be quicker, Bree adds accurate time estimates to all her tasks to ensure efficient time management.

🕙 Tackling Quick Tasks

Bree likes to begin her day with the quickest design tasks. These usually involve revisions from the previous day, such as quick layout changes, title adjustments, or adding a sponsor's logo. These straightforward tasks can typically be completed in 15-minute chunks, allowing Bree to swiftly clear them off her list.

🕛 Mid-Morning Break

Around noon, Bree takes a short break to recharge. Whether it's scrolling through TikTok for creative ideas, chatting with a team member, or grabbing a drink or snack from the kitchen, these brief moments help her stay energized and inspired.

🕐 Focused Design Time

Once settled again, Bree dives into larger tasks that require more focus and uninterrupted time. These could be new design requests that have come in or ongoing projects that span several days. Examples include designing a social media deck or creating a catalogue for tires. Sometimes, it might be a quicker project like a single-page flyer or a brochure design, which can take up to two hours.

🕑 Lunch Break

Around 2:30 PM, Bree takes a well-deserved lunch break. She prefers a later lunch, which makes her day feel shorter. Her husband, who also works from home, joins her for a break in the living room. They enjoy a light meal, like yogurt or a bowl of cereal, and watch a sitcom to relax and decompress.

🕚 Meetings and Collaboration

Throughout the day, Bree is occasionally called into meetings, typically between 10-12 AM or 1-2 PM. These internal meetings keep the design team updated on new procedures, clients, questions, and design trends. Bree also participates in meetings for larger projects that require extensive planning. Recurring meetings, such as social media committee meetings, TikTok meetings, and SEO sub-committee meetings, keep her engaged and involved in various aspects of our agency's operations.

🕒 Afternoon Work Session

Around 3 PM, Bree returns to her desk to either continue her previous work or tackle new tasks that have arisen. She also reviews her docket for the next day, updating time estimates and planning ahead to ensure a smooth workflow. If there's time, she may even start working on tasks for the next day.

🕔 Wrapping Up the Day

Bree's workday typically ends around 4:30 PM. She logs any meeting time with clients and wraps up her tasks for the day, ready to say goodbye until the next morning.

At TDG Marketing, we believe in the power of flexibility. Working from home allows our team members, like Bree, to create a comfortable and personalized workspace, leading to increased productivity and job satisfaction. Our flexible schedule means our team can take breaks when needed, manage their workload efficiently, and even enjoy quality time with family throughout the day. This approach not only enhances work-life balance but also fosters a creative and motivated team, ready to tackle any project that comes their way.

A big thanks to Bree for sharing a day in her work life with us! Stay tuned to hear how more of our team manage their workday in future blogs.
