It’s that time again…when we get to shout out the amazing people on the TDG team who push the boundaries of our creativity, finding ways to make our client’s visions a reality. Courtney is our Studio Director, a truly critical member of the squad who goes above and beyond, getting clients results and putting a spark in the whole team. Her energy and positivity are inspiring, but you will be able to see that for yourself in her answers below.
Let’s get to know her…
Meet Courtney – Our Stellar Studio Director
What is your role at TDG?
I am TDG Marketing’s Studio Director, so it is my job to lead, support, and advocate for the needs of the Studio Team which includes our Graphic Design, Video, and Copywriting Teams. It is my responsibility to ensure these departments are running smoothly and producing excellent work that meets industry standards and trends while helping our clients succeed. One of my favourite parts of my job is fostering a culture that is in line with our values of Trust, Care, Innovation & Creativity, Communication, Growth, and Work/Life Balance.
How long have you been with TDG?
I started my TDG career six years ago and have seen the business grow and change tremendously in that time, in size, organization, clientele, service offerings, and more. Something that hasn’t changed is the business’s commitment to our people and our clients, as well as a real passion for producing fantastic work. I am very proud of the team we have and the impact we make.
What does your typical workday look like?
Working at a marketing agency means no two days are the same. I have found this to be even more true since moving into a leadership role. On any given day, I could be:
… And whatever else needs to be done that day!
What is the most challenging part of your job?
In general, I would say the challenges are what keep things exciting – I like solving problems and organizing messes and always have. I would say the biggest challenge in this role for me has been learning to “turn off” my work brain after 4:30 to enjoy a healthy work/life balance. I care deeply about my teammates and the business and can find myself thinking about work in my personal time, especially as someone who works from home. This is something I am always working on improving to ensure I am taking care of myself and showing up at my best for the team.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
To put it simply: making a positive impact on our people, our clients, and the business. I feel fulfilled by seeing our care and effort turn into growth, success, and a happy team and clientele.
What do you like to do outside of work?
My husband and I are often busy with friends and family outside of work, but I also have many hobbies I enjoy. I’m very interested in home decorating/design and antiques, making frequent trips to Homesense, or exploring flea markets. I’m not ashamed to say I listen to an obscene amount of Taylor Swift. I like to read and get a lot of my book recommendations from #BookTok. I enjoy a good reality TV show, love to travel, and have taken an interest in mixology in recent years. I’ve been told I make one hell of an espresso martini!
Is there anything else you would like to share about yourself or the company?
I truly believe our agency has an unparalleled culture and is equipped with an incredibly passionate and talented team that is committed to doing even bigger and better things -- I can’t wait to see what we do together!
