If you ask around, our clients will tell you one of our greatest strengths is our ability to learn new industries very quickly. This allows us to be fast off the block with innovative marketing materials, unique to our clients’ position in their marketplace. At TDG Marketing, we believe in not only knowing your business inside and out, but your industry as a whole. This lets us position you as a leader, while ensuring you stand out from your competitors.

How do we do it? It’s not magic – just good old fashion market research and a team that knows their stuff. Here’s a peak into our process.

Our first steps: market research

We land a new client; our whole team does a few fist bumps and a collective cheer…then what? We start a deep dive! Our initial market research is made up of product research (what our client is selling), a competitive analysis (what are the other people in the industry selling and how), and a review of previous marketing analytics (how has the client been selling their goods or services, and how has that worked for them).

This process is usually completed both by our team in-house, and collaboratively with the client during an initial “planning session”. By defining your audience, we are able to market directly to them. Speak a language they will want to listen to, if you will.

As a new client, our unique onboarding process ensures our entire team is aware of your company, needs, and goals. We will assign a dedicated Account Manager right from the start. Their job is to learn EVERYTHING…and we mean EVERYTHING…about your business and industry. They are the go between for our team and yours and become the expert in all things YOU.

Helping you reach the right people

Our continued quest to understand how to best sell to your target audience can take different forms. We may talk to relevant parties/customers in your industry through focus groups or surveys. This can help us gauge the need for your product, decide who to best target, and find out what is working and what isn’t.

In a comprehensive competitive analysis, we will often focus on the few major players in your industry and those who are of similar size to you, who you see as your direct competitors. We review their websites, understand what keywords are working for them, and take a good look at their social media. Knowing what is working for your direct competition (and what is not working) can help us make a plan to give you a step up in your market.

First things first

It’s important that we work together early on in this process to identify your goals. We talk through what makes you unique as a company; what is something only you provide? What parts of your business do you want to focus on and grow? Do you have any specific benchmarks you would like to hit over the next year, five years, or in the longer term? Knowing your goals helps us develop a comprehensive strategy to accelerate your brand.

Once your goals and strategies have been defined, your Account Manager will communicate this information to our entire team. Having everyone on the same page lets us ensure consistency in your brand messaging and design, so that we are always helping you put your best foot forward.
