When you hear the words “quality control” our guess is your mind goes to physical goods, like a quality control inspector on a production line looking for merchandise that doesn’t meet the cut. In marketing, quality control is always on our minds though. It might look a little different, but our clients have come to expect the best…and you better believe that’s what we give them!

Let’s be honest, we aren’t the only marketing company around. That means every website, print piece, blog, and video we put out must raise the bar. That’s what sets us apart; what builds trust with our clients so we can continue working together to push their brand forward.
Nobody is perfect, so errors do (very rarely) make their way into a finished product. Typos, broken links, incorrect imagery, or poor grammar can greatly devalue a brand over time. As a marketing team, it is our job to help our clients provide value to their customers while building trust. Mistakes get felt throughout every aspect of this chain. Thankfully, when we work with clients to build a strong bond internally and a good reputation with their customers, one small error isn’t usually make-or-break. It’s when customers see a pattern of errors, things start to fall apart. That’s why it is so important for us to continually push the envelope and put out ground-breaking work that is memorable, clean, and on-brand.
What Does Quality Control Look Like at TDG?
We have many different departments and quality control can look different within each, every day. It’s making sure concepts behind our work match the strategy we have pitched to our client, ensuring campaigns are on brand, verifying that all visual elements follow our documented brand standards (you should see our brand standard guides…A++), checking websites and posts for broken links, and…proofing everything…THEN PROOFING IT AGAIN!
Let us share a little internal secret with you. We are BIG fans of checklists! Both our Client Services and Studio teams follow detailed and thorough checklists for every project, no matter how big or small.
Our Client Services department lists focus on things like spelling errors, title proofing, proper addresses for web, email, physical locations, phone numbers, etc., prices, trademarks, and hashtags. The Studio Team leans more towards checking links, testing website forms, and image uploads, device testing, file packaging, proofreading, and so much more! We have a variety of checklists for our vast range of projects and typically try to get as many eyes as possible on something before it goes to a client. If there is a mistake, we want to catch it WELL before it ever makes it to you!
No company is perfect and that goes for us too. But we do everything in our power to ensure our clients get the highest quality work, building their brand and customer loyalty while making some pretty cool marketing materials.
