At TDG Marketing, we continuously seek innovative ways to enhance our digital presence and client engagement. During March and April 2024, we embarked on an experimental project to better our TikTok presence by upping our posts to three times a day on weekdays. The primary aim was to understand the impact of increased posting frequency on our visibility and follower engagement. The results were remarkable, with a 43% increase in followers, nearly half a million views, and a significant boost in engagement. This case study explores our strategy, execution, and the impressive results we achieved.
Our primary challenge was to determine if increasing our posting frequency on TikTok would enhance client engagement and visibility. We needed to test various content types and monitor their performance closely to adapt our strategy as needed.
We formed a dedicated committee to manage our TikTok profile and create engaging content. Our approach involved maintaining a consistent posting schedule, aiming for high-quality, original videos that provided clear value to our audience. We focused on creating a mix of humorous posts, informative videos, and trend-based clips.
Over March and April 2024, we posted three times a day during weekdays, utilizing a variety of content styles to see what resonated best with our audience. We closely monitored performance metrics to adapt our strategy as needed.
The experiment yielded remarkable results. We achieved a 43% increase in followers, gaining 492 new followers and reaching our goal of 1,000 followers. Our content garnered nearly half a million views, specifically 496k. Additionally, we saw a significant engagement rate of 7.9%, resulting in a total of 31.2k interactions, including likes, comments, shares, and saves.
Our top-performing posts highlighted the diversity and creativity of our content:
Through this experiment, we discovered several critical insights about TikTok's algorithm and content dynamics. Firstly, the TikTok algorithm remains mysterious, making it crucial to experiment with different content styles and posting times. There is no universal best time to post; success depends heavily on understanding your specific audience and followers. We found that high-quality, original content with clear value is essential for gaining traction. The content that performed best for us either brought value to the audience, related to them personally, or was simply entertaining. We also found that carousel style posts as well as shorter videos were most engaging. As with anything, consistency is key – with TikTok recommending posting 1-4 times per day. Optimizing our profile with a clear username and relevant keywords contributed to better performance, as well as including 3-5 relevant hashtags per post and adapting to current trends to significantly boost engagement.
By testing a higher posting frequency, we not only achieved our engagement goals but also gained a deeper understanding of TikTok's dynamics. This experiment underscored the importance of consistent, high-quality content and provided actionable insights for future strategies.
