At TDG Marketing, we are proud of our talented team members who bring creativity and dedication to every project. Today, we are excited to introduce you to Andrew, our skilled Videographer & Video Editor. Andrew is relatively new to our team but definitely not new to the industry. He has already made a huge impact on our video department and the team as a whole. Let’s get to know him a bit better.

Meet Andrew…

How long have you been with TDG?

I have been with TDG Marketing for almost a year.

What does your typical workday look like?

There are two types of days, either shooting or editing, but both start with coffee. When shooting, I hit the road anywhere between Brantford and Toronto. I show up on-site, and while some shoots I can do in my sleep, others are more of a puzzle with the lighting, background, or subject matter. When I am not doing that, I am editing at my home office or planning upcoming shoots.

What is the most challenging part of your job?

Part of the fun is the challenge of walking into a place I have never been before and filming something I have just been introduced to. In a short timeframe, I have to come away with something that resonates with a specific audience. It takes a lot of time management, organization, and flexibility. Luckily, I have been doing this long enough that it is not so scary and it keeps things fresh and interesting.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Aside from the satisfaction of developing something from concept to final form and seeing it resonate with an audience, I enjoy being able to regularly go outside my local bubble. I get to meet a diversity of people from across the province, learn about different industries, and the work that people do, and hear their stories.

What do you like to do outside of work?

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, watching films in the theatre, being in nature, petting dogs and cats on their heads, scratching their bellies, and laughing with friends and loved ones.

Anything else you want to share?

Apparently, the moon used to be a chunk of Earth that broke off during the formation of the planets, and the moon’s gravity caused the tides. Without tidal pools, there probably would not have been the type of complex life evolving on Earth the way it did, and hence humans and us, and we are all just stardust.
